I was originally looking at a regular office chair, but decided on the new Master Rex 2026 because I wanted something I could work in during the day and relax in afterwards. My desk is in the bedroom, so I didn't fancy having a separate gaming chair taking up more space.
The armrests were the first thing I played around with. They rotate much further than I expected and there are quite a few different ways to position them. I usually have them pointing slightly inwards when I'm working, then change the angle when I'm gaming. The lumbar support is also adjustable using the knobs on the back. I found the adjustments straightforward enough.
What I enjoy most is how the chair feels when leaning back. The rocking movement is smooth and doesn't feel loose, and I can lock the tilt when I find a position I like. Pulling out the footrest makes it quite comfortable for watching a film or having a break.
The seat is definitely on the firmer side, so anyone expecting a really soft cushion might need time to get used to it. I don't mind that personally. Still early days, but I'm happy with how it's working out.
